USMTS Back To
Belleville in 2022
BELLEVILLE, Kan. (Jan.
12) —
For the first time in 13 years, the
fire-breathing Modifieds of the Summit USMTS National
Championship fueled by Casey’s are returning to the
Belleville High banks in Belleville, Kan., in the summer
of 2022.
The two-night
kickoff to the Belleville Dirt Nationals will take place
Friday and Saturday, June 10-11, with a $5,000 top prize
up for grabs Friday and $10,000 earmarked for Saturday’s
winner. Stock Cars will also be racing under the lights
both nights.
Although this will be the third visit by the USMTS to
the famed facility, this event will take place on the
shorter, but no less exciting, quarter-mile track that
sits inside the behemoth half-mile oval that the USMTS
competed on in 2008 and 2002.
An open practice is
set for Thursday, June 9, and following the USMTS shows
will be Monday and Tuesday’s XR Super Series Late Model
events on the “The World’s Fastest Half-Mile Dirt Track”
paying $25,000- and $50,000-to-win, respectively.
The event is presented by XR—a marketing and
multimedia firm which focuses on the racing industry,
producing high-impact events and streaming broadcasts.

On June 4, 2002, Justin Boney of
De Soto, Kan., won the inaugural USMTS event at
Belleville and John Allen of Chanute, Kan., cashed in
when the USMTS returned on Aug. 11, 2008.
The
Belleville High Banks is located 2.0 miles north of US
36 on US 81, then 0.4 mile southeast on M St. to 7th
St., then 0.1 mile east (near the water tower, at the
North Central Kansas Fairgrounds). The physical address
is 608 O St, Belleville, KS 66935.
2022
season blasts off March 3-5: The Summit USMTS
Modifieds will invade the Rocket Raceway Park in Petty,
Texas, on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, March 3-5, for
the 12th Annual USMTS Texas Spring Nationals.
The
track opened in 2015 and hosted the USMTS on June 25 for
the first and only visit here by the series. Philip
Houston was the winner that night.
Formerly known
as 82 Speedway, the fast quarter-mile dirt oval will
also welcome USRA Stock Cars, USRA Limited Mods and USRA
Factory Stocks all three nights.
The Rocket
Raceway Park is a wide, sweeping 1/4-mile high-banked
dirt oval and the facility holds 3,400 spectators in its
elevated grandstands which offer superb viewing from any
seat.
The venue can be found in Lamar
County—about 15 minutes west of Paris and 25 minutes
east of Bonham. The track’s physical location is 16369
US Hwy 82, Petty, TX 75470.
