USRA Licenses get $50 Summit Gift Cards
Registration is open for
racers planning to compete in the Summit USRA Weekly
Racing Series during the 2023 calendar year. Up from the
300 announced a few weeks ago, Summit Racing Equipment
has upped the ante and now the first 500 drivers to
purchase a USRA license will receive a Summit gift card
worth $50.
All competitors at a USRA-sanctioned
event must possess either a USRA Competitor License or
USRA Temporary License to participate in the event.
Drivers competing in USRA-sanctioned events are eligible
to earn track and national points in the Summit USRA
Weekly Racing Series from January 1 through October 29,
2023, and be eligible for points funds unmatched in
grassroots weekly racing.

The cost of a USRA
Competitor License for the 2023 calendar year is
unchanged from 2022. USRA Modifieds are $130, Medieval
USRA Stock Cars and USRA Late Models are $110, and
licenses are $100 for USRA B-Mods, USRA Hobby Stocks,
USRA Limited Mods and Sunoco USRA Factory Stocks. USRA
Tuners are $60.
Credit card transactions include
a $5 processing fee. To avoid this charge, mail a check
with your completed form.
All license fees will
increase by $20 beginning March 6, 2023. Competitors
must purchase a USRA Competitor License on or before
June 30 to earn full points funds, and competitors may
also designate their intention to compete for Rookie of
the Year in their division.
In addition to a
fantastic supplemental insurance progam, another reason
to purchase a USRA license is to be eligible for full
points funds at the end of the year. also, all racers
attending the 10th Annual Summit USRA Nationals in
October must have a full USRA license.
Alternatively, drivers may purchase a USRA temporary
license for $10 at the racetrack on race day. The temp
license is valid for one (1) event only. Drivers opting
to purchase a temp license will earn the same points as
those with a USRA Competitor License. The purchase of a
temp license does not apply toward the cost of a USRA
Competitor License if one is purchased later.
To
be eligible for national points funds, a driver must
have competed in at least half of the events held at any
one USRA-sanctioned racetrack (minimum of 8 events with
a minimum of 4 starts). To be eligible for track points
funds, driver must have competed in at least half of the
events held at that racetrack for which the points funds
are being awarded.
