“Spoils” USMTS Racers Again in 2022 PALM BEACH
GARDENS, Fla. (Jan. 14) —
Wrisco Industries returns in 2022 for
their fourth straight year as sponsor of the Wrisco
Points Leader Award and the Official Aluminum Supplier
of the USMTS.
At every Summit USMTS National
Championship event in 2021, the points leader will wear
a special dayglo-yellow spoiler designating that racer
as the one sitting at the top of the mountain.
The USMTS national champion at year’s end will be
awarded a complete body from Wrisco, and the company is
bolstering the year-end points fund for all competitors.
Wrisco Industries, Inc., is the leader in race color
innovations with our full-line of .040 and .050 racing
painted aluminum sheet for car bodies and trailer skins.
Wrisco was founded in 1916 and has grown to become an
industry leader in quality aluminum products and
services.

Wieland Metal Services recently
acquired Wrisco Industries, and the acquisition supports
Wieland’s growth objectives in aluminum while further
expanding its diversified solutions and services. The
business will continue to operate under the Wrisco name
as Wieland works through its transition and integration
into the Wieland Group.
Wieland is a 200-year
old, family-owned global technology and service leader
in the brass and copper industry, known for excellent
customer service and innovative solutions. The
acquisition stems from Wieland’s pursuit of specific
growth opportunities and expansion of its customer
service portfolio specifically focused on North America.
Wieland will ensure to continue to meet the needs of
Wrisco customers for best-in-class quality aluminum
solutions and value-added services through its
world-class processing capabilities, reliable
distribution network, and excellent customer service.
In 2019, Rodney Sanders earned the Wrisco Points
Leader Award with his third USMTS National Championship
and donned the Wrisco spoiler from start to finish, and
in 2020 he shared it with Dereck Ramirez for just two
nights before making it a permanent part of his familiar
No. 20 machine for the rest of the year.
Ramirez
bounced back to claim the honor in 2021 as the Summit
USMTS National Champion.
2022 season
blasts off March 3-5: The Summit USMTS
Modifieds will invade the Rocket Raceway Park in Petty,
Texas, on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, March 3-5, for
the 12th Annual USMTS Texas Spring Nationals.
The
track opened in 2015 and hosted the USMTS on June 25 for
the first and only visit here by the series. Philip
Houston was the winner that night. Formerly known as 82
Speedway, the fast quarter-mile dirt oval will also
welcome USRA Stock Cars, USRA Limited Mods and USRA
Factory Stocks all three nights.
The Rocket
Raceway Park is a wide, sweeping 1/4-mile high-banked
dirt oval and the facility holds 3,400 spectators in its
elevated grandstands which offer superb viewing from any
seat. The venue can be found in Lamar County—about 15
minutes west of Paris and 25 minutes east of Bonham. The
track’s physical location is 16369 US Hwy 82, Petty, TX
75470.
