Equipment Renews Commitment To Racers, Remains Title
Sponsor of USMTS
AKRON, Ohio (Jan. 28)
— Officials
from the United States Modified Touring Series and
Summit Racing Equipment announced this week that they
have inked a new multi-year exclusive partnership to
support the racers who compete in the Summit USMTS
National Championship presented by RacinDirt.
As
part of their commitment to USMTS competitors, Summit
Racing Equipment will be the Official High Performance
Source of the USMTS as well as the title sponsor of the
USMTS.
For the fifth
straight season, Summit will also be the presenting
sponsor of the annual King of America crown jewel event.
In 2022, the race is scheduled for Thursday-Saturday,
March 24-26, at the Humboldt Speedway in Humboldt, Kan.
“After meeting with Todd (Staley) and his family and
staff a few years ago, we knew the USMTS was going to be
a great avenue for us to show our support for the
racer,” said Jim Greenleaf, Summit Racing Equipment’s
Motorsports and Events Manager. “That is really what
we're in this business for is supporting the racers.
“We're happy to do a new multi-year agreement with
the USMTS and USRA to continue our support for the
racers that support the series and the sanctioning
body.”
“Due in large part to Summit’s partnership
with the USMTS, we will be offering unmatched event
purses again this season and the 2022 USMTS national
champ will pocket a record-tying $70,000 for a second
straight season,” said USMTS President Todd Staley.
“There couldn’t be a better partner for our drivers to
have in their corner.”
In addition to making a
significant contribution to points funds for USMTS
competitors, Summit Racing Equipment will also dole out
thousands of dollars in gift cards and product
certificates to competitors during the course of the
season as well as at season’s end.

2022 season blasts off March
4-5: The Summit USMTS Modifieds will invade the
Rocket Raceway Park in Petty, Texas, on Friday and
Saturday, March 4-5, for the 12th Annual Texas Spring
Nationals.
The fast and wide high-banked
quarter-mile dirt oval, formerly known as 82 Speedway
and East Texas Speedway, opened in 2015 and hosted the
USMTS for the first and only time on June 25. Philip
Houston was the winner that night.
The Texas
Spring Nationals will also welcome USRA Stock Cars for
the first time ever, along with USRA Limited Mods and
USRA Factory Stocks both nights. An open practice for
all divisions is slated for Thursday night, March 3.
The Rocket Raceway Park holds 3,400 spectators and
its elevated grandstands offer superb viewing from any
seat. The venue can be found in Lamar County—about 15
minutes west of Paris and 25 minutes east of Bonham.
The track’s physical location is 16369 US Hwy 82,
Petty, TX 75470. Learn more at
