USMTS Blasts Off Friday at HOT
This Friday, the 27th season
of the Summit USMTS National Championship presented by
RacinDirt gets started with the 10th Annual USMTS Winter
Nationals at the Heart O’ Texas Speedway in Elm Mott,
Texas.
Racing happens Friday, Feb. 28 and
Saturday, March 1, with $5,000 on the line for the
winner each night. The USRA American Racer Modified
Series competes Thursday to kick off the ARMS season for
2025.
Returning to the venue just outside of Waco
for the first time since 2017, past winners at the
1/4-mile semi-banked dirt oval include Ryan Gustin and
Zack VanderBeek with two wins each. Mike Sorensen,
Johnny Scott, Rodney Sanders and Stormy Scott have also
won at the HOT.
Everybody will be chasing the
defending USMTS National champion. Jim Chisholm, who
picked up a chaeck for more than $80,000 at last month's
awards banquet for the series. Last fall, Chisholm won a
record $50,000 for winning the Mod War 100 where he held
off Jake O'Neil and Terry Phillips for the victory.
Limited Mods/B-Mods and Factory Stocks will join the
racing show with gates opening at 6 p.m. and racing at 8
each night.
