Plan Of
Attack Revealed for Summit USMTS Spring Nationals
The Summit USMTS National
Championship presented by RacinDirt embarks on its
biggest, boldest schedule yet this weekend at the Rocket
Raceway Park in Petty, Texas, for the 13th Annual Summit
Spring Nationals.
"With fans and racers alike—as
well as officials from the USMTS and Rocket Raceway
Park—keeping one eye on their weather apps, we just want
to let everybody know our plan of attack for this
weekend's monster show," said USMTS President Todd
Staley. "In 25 years of doing this, I don't have enough
fingers and toes to count how many times the weather
forecast has been totally wrong. but they've been right
sometimes too."
With a dismal forecast for
Thursday and into Friday, racetrack and series officials
have made begrudgingly gone to Plan B.
Thursday's
event is canceled while Friday's event for all classes
will now move to Sunday afternoon along with the
previously announced payouts for Friday. We will race
Saturday's big finale as planned. Summit USMTS
Modifieds, USRA Stock Cars, USRA Limited Mods, USRA
Factory Stocks and Eco-Mods are on tap both days.
Officials have also pulled the plug on Wednesday's
practice session. time permitting, there may be a
morning/early afternoon practice on Saturday.
