Hunt
County Raceway Adds USRA Firepower to 2024 Lineup
Officials from the
United States Racing Association announced recently
that the Hunt County Raceway in Greenville, Texas,
will welcome the Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series to
their Friday night lineup in 2024.
"We are
excited to announce that the County Armory Factory
Stock and Baker's Ribs Limited Mod divisions will be
USRA-sanctioned for the 2024 season," track
officials said. "We feel this is the best decision
for us and the racers."
Since taking the
reigns at the former Superbowl Speedway at the
beginning of 2023, promoters Josh Landers and Donnie
Schipp have been moving fast forward and full
throttle, and that continues in 2024 with two big
events to kick off the season.
First, the
track will host the season-opening event for the
Summit USMTS Modifieds on Friday and Saturday, Feb.
23-24, with the 9th Annual Summit USMTS Texas Winter
Nationals.
In addition to the USMTS
Modifieds, the race will feature USRA Stock Cars,
USRA Limited Mods and Sunoco USRA Factory Stocks
will also be on the card with the first event of the
year awarding Summit USRA Weekly Racing Series
national points for both classes. Eco-Mods will also
be racing.
Three weeks later, the track hosts
the RaceOnTexas Southern Thaw for USRA Stock Cars.
The nine-night, three-track trek through North Texas
and into Oklahoma will feature more than $80,000 in
prize money plus a hefty points fund to pad the
racing budgets of USRA Stock Car racers for 2024.
After the opening weekend at the Rocket Raceway
Park in Petty, Texas, the Hunt County Raceway will
host the mini-series on Monday and Tuesday, March
18-19. Each event will pay $1,000 to win and no less
than $100 to start the first night with the second
night at each track paying $2,000 to win and $200 to
start the main event.
Action resumes at the
Arrowhead Speedway in Colcord, Okla., on Friday and
Saturday, March 22-23, with both nights featuring a
main event paying $5,000 to the winner and no less
than $500 to each USRA Stock Car driver that starts
the feature.
