Cain
Collects USRA Stock Car National Championship
Josh Cain of Rio Rancho,
N.M., delivered a dominant performance in 2024 and
captured his first USRA Stock National Championship.
Cain, who also won the MSD Performance USRA
Southern Region driven by MVT title for his
division, competed in 38 Summit USRA Weekly Racing
Series events. He won 31 of them and remarkably
never finished outside the top five.
The long
journey from the Land of Enchantment to the Show-Me
State also netted him his second straight Summit
USRA Nationals crown at the Lucas Oil Speedway in
Wheatland, Mo.
Jeff Metcalf of Gentry, Ark.,
and Jaylen Wettengel from Topeka, Kan., wound up
second and third in the final points.
Cain
gathered most of his national and regional points in
action at the Vado Speedway Park in Vado, N.M.,
where he won 17 of 24 main events. He also made
trips to the Arrowhead Speedway, Humboldt Speedway,
Legacy Speedway and Sandia Speedway.

worth over $40,000. Including national, regional,
rookie and track points funds, nearly $1 million is
returning to racers at season's end.

USRA Weekly Racing Series national points for all

of the events held at any one USRA-sanctioned
racetrack to be eligible for national points funds.
